What does being independent mean to you?
Independent...to stand on your own to feet. To be an island, ruler of your own destiny, immune to fate and circumstance. To be unaffected by the thoughts and feelings of others and conduct yourself in a manner which is completely in line with your beliefs with no regrets or hesitation.I just answered this Featured Question; you can answer it too!

I admire a true independent.-not that I claim to be one! "Immune to fate and circumstance." Now that's what I call strength! But do-able. I don't consider myself a rock or an island, obviously, (okay, Simon and Garfunkel) I'm a survivor. An independent is courageous and has their shit together. I think our society could use more of those, as long as they use their independence for good and not total selfishness of course.
